This is a small sketch painted on the Comtesse beach in Saint-Quay. On this vast stretch of sand, there is a small seawater pool that forms during low tide. As the sea recedes, a shallow body of water remains — much to the delight of children. It becomes a perfect playground for all kinds of beach games. I painted this piece near the pool, so I could capture the reflections of the Hotel Ker Moor shimmering in the water. It is an exceptionally picturesque spot.
