It is undoubtedly the last representative in France of a very particular method of mooring, whose history dates back to the Middle Ages. A simple mooring on wooden piles. About thirty tree trunks 8 to 10 meters high are planted in the sea sand, with their roots, in the hollow of a small cove protected by a rocky point. Stones consolidate the base of each tree and the whole constitutes a small forest of masts which spans the centuries. This is where the boats moor.
