On the Countess beach 30x40cm

Countess Island, Accessible at low tide, the Île de la Comtesse intrigues, attracts and invites you to discover... Connected to the mainland by rocks submerged at high tide, this island belonged, between the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century, to the Countess of Thuilais. Irascible and vindictive, this one spreads terror in the surroundings and the island is then called 'Island of the Countess'. Then, the island was acquired by a great perfumer, Rimmel, then by a poet who had topsoil transported there and built walls there to make a botanical garden. Abandoned, the island was bought by the municipality of Saint-Quay-Portrieux in 1975.
