If you arrive at Belle ile en mer by boat, this will be your first contact with the island. It consists of two areas. The Outer Port marked by the two lights of the Palace offers a docking, a quay and a ferry terminal for regular lines providing the connections Le Palais - Île-d'Houat, Hoëdic, Île aux Moines, Île d'Arz-Auray and Quiberon. The Inner Port receives fishing boats. The floating basin includes the commercial basin and the pleasure basin. Further on are the wintering sites and the shipyards. You can see these two places in my painting. I was captivated by the beautiful contrast of the architecture lit by the afternoon sun against the very cloudy sky. This charming spectacle is enriched by colorful reflections in the water. This island is not called "Belle Ile" by chance... a visual treat for painters.
